Trending Topics Technical Support
The Trending Topics team is seeking one or more volunteers to "back up" the League member currently responsible for running the technical requirements for events held on zoom, recorded and shared on our website and social media. Volunteers will "shadow" to learn how to run the technical side of Trending Topics events, which are held about four times each year.  Experience with hosting meetings on Zoom and evening availability are qualifications. Experience with video editing and social media will be helpful. Spanish Speakers Needed – Help Translate/Update Our Voter Materials
We need assistance periodically in translating and updating our Voter’s Guides and other brochures and informational materials for voters into Spanish. Usually, translations can be completed in about 1 to 3 hours per request. This work can be done remotely. If you are interested in assisting or would like information, please contact mdw@lwvmoco.org and write “Attention Voters Guide Editor” in the subject line. 

Speakers Bureau Coordinator
The Civic Education Action Committee and Making Democracy Work Committee are seeking a coordinator for the LWVMC Speakers Bureau, which is generally most active around election time.  The coordinator's role includes tracking requests for speakers from the community, recruiting speakers to address ballot initiatives and other topics, and working with speakers and other knowledgeable League members to develop presentations.  This opportunity is long term. The time commitment will vary depending on the number of requests and time of year, ranging from about 5 hours per month to 5 hours per week during the 6 weeks before a primary or general election. Tabling Event Coordinator
This new on-going volunteer role will assist the Voter Registration Coordinator with the administrative aspects of staffing voter registration tables. This may include monitoring and restocking tabling event supplies, updating our mailing list for the Voters’ Guide, and sending thank you notes to community event contacts. This role is expected to requires about a 1–2 hour commitment most weeks. You need to go to the LWVMC office at 27 Wood Lane in Rockville. Community Event Liaisons
Volunteers are needed to increase our community outreach contacts for tabling events. This includes (a) identifying community events in target areas for a LWVMC voter registration or information table, (b) collecting key event information such as who is likely to attend, cost of participating, etc., for evaluation and decision by the Voter Registration Coordinator and (c) establish new contacts in target areas to assist in disseminating our voter information materials. A Community Event Coordinator can expect to work up to 5 hours a week on these combined activities, depending on the number of Community Event Coordinators and the time of year.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Caren Ginsberg or Ralph Watkins at mdw@lwvmocomd.org (please put "Community Event Liaison Volunteer" in the subject line).

Publications Committee Volunteers
The Publications Committee (a subcommittee of Making Democracy Work Publications sub-Committee) produces the Voters’ Guides and informational brochures for upcoming primary and general elections. Volunteers are needed for writing and editing tasks, including to update materials, translate materials into Spanish, and revise the layout/appearance of materials. Publications Committee volunteers attend monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm. Some tasks require ongoing involvement, while other assignments can be shorter term. The weekly hourly commitment varies depending on the task and time of year. VOTE411.org Coordinators
Volunteers are needed to support the LWV's VOTE411.org for Montgomery County and also for other counties in Maryland that do not have a local LWV chapter. Volunteers support VOTE411.org for both primary and general elections by populating and maintaining the county-specific information, checking campaign websites and other information for accuracy, and contacting candidates have not responded.  The time commitment varies depending on time of year and the number of available volunteers. Support LWVMC's Tech Team
The Technology Committees is looking for members with skills to help support the LWVMC's website and other technology requirements.  Help is needed with YouTube channel organization and maintenance, supporting on-line volunteer opportunities posting and sign ups, webpage editing, managing images and photos, and other tasks. Tasks can be simple, one-time, and short-term needs and you won't be required to attend monthly meetings (or officially join the Tech Committee).  We can train if needed. Bulk Mailing Coordinator
We are looking for a two-member team to prepare bulk mailings for delivery to the U.S. Postal Service after volunteers have stuffed envelopes.  Volunteers must be willing to go into the LWVMC office 1 or 2 days to support bulk mailings in mid-February, June, and October.
