Protecting Mail-In Voting from the Trump Administration’s illegal Attacks

 2026 LWUS Mail In Voting


LWV and LWVMA filed a lawsuit challenging an illegal Executive Order targeting mail voting and voter eligibility and asking for a declaration that the Executive Order is unconstitutional and a grant of injunctive relief. The court granted the injunction, prohibiting implementation of Section 3 of the Order.

There are ongoing legal challenges involving new federal requirements for mail voting, and the rules may change as those cases move through the courts. The League of Women Voters is closely monitoring these developments.
